My amaryllis produced seeds this year. I let the pod dry on the plants. The seeds have dropped out of the pods, now what?
You can plant the seeds whenever you are ready to start growing new amaryllis plants. Use clean containers and a sterile potting or seed starting mix. Lay the seeds on their sides and cover lightly (a depth twice the thickness of the seed) with soil. Keep the soil warm (70 to 75 degrees) and moist. Seeds should germinate within 4 to 6 weeks. Move to a sunny location or under artificial light as soon as the seeds sprout. It will take several years for the plants to reach maturity and start producing flowers.
