 Old seeds don't need to end up in the compost bin, at least not yet. Put discarded seeds to work in art projects. Gardeners and artists have long been using seeds to create beautiful works of art. Now yours may not be as elaborate as these I saw in Mexico, but they can be just as beautiful. Create designs or pictures by gluing seeds onto the cover of an old box, a piece of cardboard or picture frame. Short of seeds? Check your spice rack. Many cooks regularly replace their old spices and may be willing to share their discards. And don't forget to talk to your gardening friends. They maybe willing to donate a few seeds for the project or better yet, they may want to join in the fun. |
