mgm_audio_247_rethink_evergreensUse taller evergreens for screening bad views, buffering traffic and other noises, or creating privacy. Combine them with perennials and flowering shrubs for added seasonal interest.

Many evergreens have interesting form and texture. Use these to create a focal point in a garden bed or landscape.

And evergreens come in more colors than green. The yellow needles of the golden thread cypress and blue of the procumbens spruce make these and other colorful evergreens nice accents in a perennial garden.

Or use them as a backdrop for other plants like ornamental grasses, perennials and flowering trees and shrubs.

And don't worry if your garden is in the shade. Select one of the many size and shaped hemlocks. Give these shade tolerant evergreens a bit of shelter from winter winds and sun.

A bit more information: Use miniature evergreens in container and trough gardens to use as a centerpiece on your patio table, focal point in the garden or for added greenery on your deck. Combine with small-scale groundcovers and perennials for additional seasonal interest.
