In this podcast I would like to focus on the planting beds. I'll answer gardeners' questions on how to get a great lawn, perennials for shade, planting primrose and telling the difference between male and female bittersweet vine. In my pest tip I'll discuss septoria leaf spot on tomatoes. Finally I'll discuss using a down spout shut-off/diverter with your rain barrel.

I have 12 astilbe plants and last summer they all looked terrible! I watered and fertilized appropriately. Was it too hot? The plants face the north-west and are protected by shade with a spot or two of sun coming through all afternoon.
I have a dozen astilbe plants that all look like they're been burned from
the inside of the plant out. Is this a fungus or a bug? These plants are four-years-old and until this summer have looked great.
