Clematis - Clematis species - Norine's Garden - Oconomowoc, Wisconsin May 29, 2009 - The first few years I lived in my house, I planted two clematis below an arbor trellis. Some years later, I assume I got too close to one when I fertilized my lawn. One plant died. I removed the surviving plant, split it in two and potted. With some tender loving care, both plants thrived. I now have mature, healthy clematis, once again, climbing both sides of the trellis.
