Winter Garden Tips
Sunflower Feeder

Turn your wilted sunflower head into a hanging platform feeder. Once your sunflower has reached maturity, remove the flower head. Using a nail, screwdriver or other implement, carefully and safely puncture the head 4 times at an equal distance from each other around the head. Using two lengths of twine, cord, or old shoe laces - create a hanger for your feeder. Run one cord thru two opposing holes and tie a secure knot near the ends. Repeat with the other cord thru the remaining two opposing holes. Hang high from a tree or other support so feeding birds will feel secure from predators.
