What to do with Plastic Pots |
|
Each year we add new plants to the landscape and that means the plastic pots are piling up. Try to find creative ways to reuse these pots. They come in handy when digging, dividing and sharing plants with friends. Contact local garden clubs and master gardener groups that may clean and reuse the pots for their plant trades and sales. And check with your local garden center and municipalities to see if there are any local options for recycling. If not encourage them to get involved. Fortunately many growers are exploring new ways of making and recycling pots. Rice hull, cow pots (made of aged manure) and peat pots are a few of the biodegradable pots currently used. Watch for more progress in the future.
