Spring Garden Tips
Helping Hand

Give the gift of your time and energy while being kind to the environment. Offer to weed and mulch a friend or relative’s garden. Pull or cultivate existing weeds. Place a layer of woodchips or shredded bark around trees and shrubs. Be careful not to pile the mulch over the trunk or stems of the plants. Use shredded leaves, evergreen needles or herbicide-free grass clippings for flowers and vegetable gardens. Coupons for a future workday provide the added benefit of another visit.
